The work to be performed by the Consultant shall cover the areas amongst others described
below:

• Provision of support to re-engineering and, where necessary, to upgrading the existing
  electrical installations and systems
  
• Provision of support to the planning of additional/ new electrical installations or
  systems
  
• Provision of general technical support within the GES Division with regard to
  maintenance activities, configuration control, change and incident management
  
• Provision of technical support to the Operations (OPS) Department as required
  
• Provision of technical support to the new infrastructure building project, specifically
  related to the power supply systems
  
• Provision of support to the planning of additional/ new air conditioning systems
  
• Provision of specific technical support within the GES Division with regard to the
  operation of water-cooled server equipment
  
• Performance of the monthly test of diesel generators including measurement and
  recording of all important parameters
  

The Consultant shall also be a member of the “On-call Support Team” who provide a remote
support service on a 24/7 rota basis.

The Consultant shall have a university degree in electrical engineering.

The Consultant shall also have a minimum of five years experience of working in an
environment where an ISO 9001-certified management system is in force and where work
activities are documented in the form of procedures and working practices.

In addition, the Consultant shall have:

• Knowledge of all applicable National and European regulations such as VDE, DIN,
  VDMA and the ISO 9001:2000 standard
  
• The ability to think in a process-oriented manner in order to review existing electrical
  installations
  
• Several years experience with uninterruptible power supply systems Proven
  experience with medium voltage systems
  
• Several years experience in the application of configuration control, change and
  incident management processes
  
• Several years experience in power distribution to computing equipment and cooling
  systems
  
• Several years experience in air conditioning systems in a 24/7 operational
  environment, including experience with water-cooled server equipment
  
• Several years experience with facility management tools and related databases
  
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
  
• Proven experience in a full time 24/7 operational environment where an uninterrupted
  service must be ensured
  
• Proven experience in the area of project management is considered an advantage
  

The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working languages for
the position are English and German and therefore the consultant must be able to
communicate effectively in both languages.

Deliverables (including a monthly report) and documentation are required to be in English
accompanied by the corresponding text and diagram electronic files.
